Third of 5 Men Accused of Breaking Into Troy Home As Part of International Crime Ring Enters Plea

The third of five men accused of breaking into a Troy home last month as part of an international crime ring.has entered a plea in Oakland County Circuit Court, the Oakland Press reports.

Earlier this week, Luis Felipe Camargo, 43, of Mexico, aka Alberto Franco Jimenez, pleaded no contest to second-degree home invasion, the publication reports. No contest means that he neither admits nor denies the charges against him, but accepts the punishment.

Prosecutors dropped a charge of driving with a suspended license. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 15.

Authorities believe that all five men in the burglarly are in the U.S. illegally.

The five men were arrested on Aug. 1 following a daytime home invasion in the 3600 block of Millay Drive in Troy, the Oakland Press reports.

The homeowner called police after spotting the intrusion on a security camera he had access to while at work. 

In August, Colombians Michel Alba Rincon, 39, and Geovanny Castellanos-Forero, 27, pleaded guilty to second–degree home invasion. They are et to be sentenced Sept. 24.

Two other men from Colombia await trial.
