Chancellor of Syracuse University to Be Named University of Michigan President

Kent Syverud, chancellor of Syracuse University, will be named the new president of the University of Michigan.

UM Regent Paul Brown told The Detroit News on Sunday that he was excited about the pick, particularly since Syverud is a former associate dean for academic affairs and an ex-professor at the university’s Law School.

“He knows us well,” Brown told The News, “and this is his dream job.”
